Steps to connect a Wii Remote to a Wii Console
On the Wii console, click the Power Button to turn it on.
Open the SD Card slot on the front of the Wii console. If you are using a Wii mini, the SYNC Button can be found on the left hand side next to the battery compartment. It is darker red than the rest of the console.
Sync the Wii Remote by removing the battery cover on the back. There are models of the Wii Remote that include a hole in the battery cover and a tool you can use to push the SYNC Button. These models don't require you to remove the battery cover to access the SYNC Button.
You can activate the Player LED on the front of the Wii Remote by pressing and releasing the SYNC button on the Wii Remote located just below the batteries.Press and release the red SYNC button quickly on your Wii console when you see the lights blink.
Syncing is complete when the Player LED stops blinking and stays lit. A number (from 1-4) appears in the LED.
In order to add another Wii Remote to the system, the sync procedure needs to be followed.
